Who are we?

Located in Ayr, Ontario, we are a multiple award winning landscape design and construction firm focused on the creation of sustainable landscape solutions, ecological restoration projects, water features, natural swim ponds, natural stonework, and walkways & patios.  We're a rapidly growing business looking to add more all-stars to the team. Planting Technicians(posted March 8th 2018)


Quiet Nature’s Naturalization division works alongside other trades and contractors to enhance, restore, and create natural spaces. Our projects include; naturalizing stormwater ponds, planting trees in residential and commercial areas, creating meadow and prairie habitat, and woodlot enhancement on rural properties, and building natural playgrounds. A Contract Planting Technician may also be asked to assist with the maintenance and operation of our native plant nursery, and assist our Landscape Construction and Garden Maintenance crews.

A Contract Planting Technician is a nature-lovin’ people person who enjoys working on a team.They have a relentless drive and a keen ability to focus and stay motivated. They thrive under pressure, are excited by a challenge and the opportunity to learn new skills. Their main responsibility is planting trees and shrubs.

Duration: A Contract Planting Technician would be brought in on an as needed basis for the duration of a Naturalization project. An excellent opportunity for someone with part-time, short-term, or seasonal availability. A “contract” could last anywhere from a week to several months. With multiple contracts occurring throughout the season. The first contract of 2018 will begin in early April.


  • Ability to report directly to job sites in various locations, and/or carpool from our shop located in Ayr, On
  • Steel Toe work boots/shoes
  • Physically active

  • Hand planting native trees and shrubs (planting techniques will be taught)

Additional skills that would be an asset, and could lead to potential full time employment

  • Experience tree planting
  • Driving truck and trailer (enclosed and flatbed)
  • Power tool, chainsaw experience
  • Skid Steer and Mini Ex Operation
  • Lead hand/supervisor experience

Job Duties:

  • Receive daily instructions from Lead Hand or Naturalization Division Manager
  • Follow standard operating procedures
  • Plant trees and shrubs
  • Maintain a safe and organized jobsite
  • Comply with all company policies and regulations
  • Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations

Work Conditions:

  • Fast paced environment
  • Often in close proximity to equipment
  • Loud, dusty, hot, rainy, cold, wet!
  • 10 hour days Monday to Friday, and occasional Saturdays


Garden Maintenance Tech (posted March 4th 2018)

The Garden Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks in order to complete grounds maintenance service contracts. The grounds maintenance laborer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.

Job Duties:

  • Aid in the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the AM and PM
  • Move and install soil, mulch and plant material to assist with the construction of landscape gardens and related areas
  • Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn tractors, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, chain saws, and snow blowers
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Assist foreman in other work-related duties including construction projects, shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
  • Comply with all company policies and regulations
  • Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
  • Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner


  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Minimum one year experience in the landscape/construction industry
  • Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
  • Effective communication skills – must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, complete simple reports, report progress to foreman
  • Time management skills
  • Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
  • Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Work Conditions:

  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Requires good manual dexterity
  • Excellent stamina is required
  • Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
